The medical industry is like an invention garden for medical devices experts. There have been a lot of inventions and developments already but out of all those devices, the assistive medical devices are those that are eyr important in the daily lives of patients.
HEARING AID. People who have problems in their ears – damage to the small sensory cells in the inner ear use hearing aids. The damage can be a result of a disease, aging or injury. Hearing aids are a small device used by people for better hearing. Hearing aids can magnify sound vibrations entering the ear. There will be surviving hair cells that can detect and larger vibrations and convert it into neutral signs to be passed into the brain.
WHEEL CHAIR. A wheel chair can ba manual or powered. This is used mainly in hospitals to transfer patients who cannot walk well. A wheel chair can be used permanently by patients who have been diagnosed by a serious disease that caused their legs not to function. It can also be brought about by burns or certain injuries. It can also be brought about by spine problems muscular dystrophy r cerebral palsy. Different types of wheel chair as mentioned are manual and powered. There are also pediatric, positioning, sports, all-terrain and standing power wheel chairs.
COGNITIVE AIDS. These are very helpful who have limited thinking functionalities. There are special devices to help people with memory, attention and other challenges.
Aside from medical devices, there are also physcial modifications in the environment or public places that are required to support people with disabilities. These include ramps, grab bars and they also have wider doorways to enable access to buildings, businesses and workplaces. Bathrooms also have special cubicles for people with disabilities so that it would not be difficult for them.
All of these medical devices and physical alterations for people with disabilities and people who are sick are very important to help them live through their daily lives. No one wants to suffer like that so experts are doing their best in inventing devices to help them. Their families are doing their best to support them and take care of them. To live in this life as such can be very hard and so we should always show kindess to them and avoid discriminating them or belittling them.
Nowadays, there are a lot of organizations too who have movements and activities to support people with disabilities. There are learning centers and even home schooling for them. There are clinics for special education and for speech therapy. There are also companies and fast food restaurants who are employing people with disabilities and it is really amazing and inspiring to witness it. They should definitely be given equal chances and opportunities and of course equal respect because they are humans just like the rest of us.
